Description
1970 Dodge Challenger 2-Door Hardtop Coupe
Originally delivered new to Courtesy Dodge in Grand Rapids, Michigan (just down the road from our showroom), this Challenger has remained local its entire life and has undergone a meticulous restoration. It's now powered by a robust, professionally built 360ci V8, originally a 318 punched out and dyno’d at 341 horsepower, courtesy of renowned West Michigan engine builders, C-Tech. It's paired with a smooth-shifting TorqueFlite 904 automatic transmission and topped off with a B&M shifter, making for a strong yet street-friendly powertrain that performs as good as it looks.
Originally equipped with the optional 340ci V8 and TorqueFlite trans, this Challenger still honors its muscle-era roots while offering upgraded performance. It features power steering, front disc brakes (an upgrade from the original heavy-duty drums), and all the right factory touches that muscle car fans will appreciate—like the Performance Package (A66), dual chrome-tipped exhaust, and cowled performance hood.
Inside, the car is just as impressive. The Rally dash with its 5 round gauges includes a 150mph speedometer, 8,000 RPM tach, and electric clock—which still works! Other original factory options include power windows, Music Master AM radio, and rear window defroster. The interior has been immaculately restored, and stepping inside is like entering a time capsule from the golden age of Detroit muscle.
Additional highlights:
Only rear quarter panels were replaced during restoration
Rechromed bumpers and tail light bezels
Optional chrome racing mirror
Included documentation: Original window sticker, build receipts, and an article featuring this car at a professional auto detailing convention
Whether you're headed to a car show or just out for a Saturday night cruise, this Plum Crazy Challenger delivers style, sound, and serious street presence. It’s a standout piece of Mopar history, reborn in its original glory with tasteful upgrades and a proven powertrain.
